JUNIOR CLASS APPLE CIDER -

CLASS OF 2011 APPLE CIDER FUNDRAISER

This year's junior class kept up the tradition of selling "school" made apple cider for their class fundraiser for prom.  Students, parents, alumni and volunteers spent almost 12 hours to making the 87 1/2 gallons of cider.  As in the past, the cider sells out within a few days.  For those of you who would like us to make more, here is some of the process that the cider makers go through:

First you start by picking the apples and filling the trailer more than half full.  This young volunteer is standing on the remains of apples already pressed that will be taken to a local farm for feed.

Second, you wash each apple, rinse and cut them into wedges. Then you cut more apples, and more apples and more apples…..

Thirdly, you grind the apples and then press the juice out. To say that these guys got a workout is an under statement!

Finally, after you boil the juice as part of the pastorization process, you pour it into as many sterilized jugs you can fine, let cool and enjoy!

BETHENY LUTHERAN COLLEGE RECOGNIZES CVLHS - Thursday, November 12, 2009

BETHANY LUTHERAN COLLEGE RECOGNIZES CVLHS FOR ACADEMICS

Bethany Lutheran College, Mankato presented an award to CVLHS on October 13th for its contribution to the high academic ability, Christian character and leadership shown by the recipients of the S. C. Ylvisaker Memorial Scholarship.
Linda Loge, Associate Dean of Admissions presented the award to CVLHS. Immediately afterwards, she spent time with six students who had questions for her about BLC.
Even though CVLHS might not have the big numbers for enrollment, that has not stopped Linda from being extremely active in educating our students about BLC and it’s benefits. You may email Linda at lloge@blc.edu for more information about enrollment and scholarships.
CVLHS currently has seven students attending Bethany Lutheran College.

PASTORS CAN BLOG - Friday, August 29, 2008

WHAT IS A BLOG?  By using a website to reach a large number of people, a blog can be used to voice an opinion, update information, ask a question or answer a question and much more.  You can put out a general question to the "world" and they will give you an answer or opinion.  It can even be used for announcements, specific or general.  Your imagination is the limit of uses for this function.

All of the Association Churches for CVLHS now have the capability to "blog" on this site.

To start blogging: register at the top of this page, call CVLHS school office so School Barb can get you your special privilages (one time only), then go to "Kiosk", "Association Churches" and click on "Start Blogging".

Have an opinion about the upcoming elections and what it means for the church body?  Lets hear it.  This is your area.  We hope you enjoy it.
